White Burgundy mixed case offer

6:23am Friday 8th August 2008

White Burgundy. The words themselves conjure up fresh, clean, minerally wines with subtlety and complexity - no big overripe and overoaked wines here.

These are wines from one of the greatest wine-producing areas on the planet - and it shows.

Discounted case price £95. Includes three bottles of each of the following four wines:

Macon Villages 2006, Château de Mirande

Subtle touches of butter and crisp structure in this very drinkable wine from the southern Cote Maconnais area of Burgundy - delicious!

Bourgogne Chardonnay Les Belles Roches 2006, Cave de Prissé

A beautiful example of Bourgogne from this excellent producer. Minerally with good ripe fruit showing the characteristics of the warm 2006 vintage - just superb with fish dishes.

Macon-Lugny Montvallon 2006, Loron et Fils

Rich creamy, buttery style from Loron. This is relatively full bodied with loads of ultra ripe fruit, making the wine a perfect match for white meats and chicken in particular.

Macon-Prissé Les Clochettes 2006, Cave de Prissé

This is a delightfully elegant and finely poised structured style of wine, that shows real minerality and terroir. Perfect with grilled prawns in particular.
