New Zealand wines are known for their wonderful purity of fruit which shines through beautifully in this selection of superbly crafted examples from both the South and North Islands.
The New Zealand mixed case costs £125 and includes three bottles each of the following four wines.
Sandy Ridge Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Nelson: Always very popular, this ultra-fresh, lively and herbaceous wine has a delicious passion fruit nose, superb clean gooseberry flavours and lovely crisp fruit that virtually jumps out of the glass.
Te Mata Estate Woodthorpe Viognier 2005, Hawkes Bay: One of Sarah's favourite New Zealand whites. Fantastically expressive orchard fruits with a refreshing backbone. Te Mata recommend it with salmon, chicken or scallops. We say, whenever!
The Crossings Pinot Noir 2006, Marlborough: Made with fruit from the renowned Awatere Valley whose fruit is recognised as the source of distinct and refined pinot noir. The Crossings has aromas of black plums and violets with ripe berry fruit and is a wine that is both elegant and approachable. Great with lamb in particular.
Te Mata Woodthorpe Estate Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, Hawke's Bay: Scoring one of Sarah's top marks in her recent trip to New Zealand this is a very high-quality red indeed. Well-defined cherry, blackcurrant and spice-sprinkled fruit are perfectly delivered in this well-structured wine.

She promises there will be neither fluffy sheep nor windswept clinches in the English Touring Theatre’s production, at the Oxford Playhouse from Tuesday to next Saturday.
