Thame got off to a flying start in the Wilson OLTA Division 2 of the Ladies 3-Pair League, whitewashing Banbury B 9-0 in the opening match of the season.
And the victory was all the more remarkable as Thame dropped just 13 games in 18 sets on their way to victory.
Maria Lawton, Tania Murray, Dawn Munro, Terry Merry, Lorna See and Jenny McLeod were all in fine form.
Banbury beat Oxford Sports C by the same margin - albeit in a much closer-fought match.
Jill Northover and Anita Horgan were unfortunate not to get Sports on the board, losing four sets 6-3 and another 6-4.
In the 2-Pair League, Bicester's first pair of Rob Smith and Justin Kelly held their nerve in a final-set tie-break to help their side to a 3-1 win over Thame in Men's Division 1.
With the score at 2-1, Chris Duffy and Richard Bradley looked on course to secure a draw after taking the opening set 6-2.
But Smith and Kelly won the next 6-0, and then claimed a 7-4 success in the tie-break to claim the points.
It was even closer in the match between Brackley and Wantage, the latter winning 3-1 after first pair Paul Homersham and David Saunders won 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 against Tim Carroll and Emerson Sekban in the decider.

Next week is The Oxford Times Wine Club Christmas Tasting and, with just four weeks to go until Christmas Day, it is an excellent opportunity to sample a specially-selected range of wines for the festive season.
One of the pictures on this page gives a good impression of the delights to be enjoyed at the Mole and Chicken on one of those sunny days that now seem as far as can be from our present situation.
I had trouble shifting my +1 for the musical Imagine This, which opened last week at the New London Theatre. No-one was interested (one German friend would have come, but funnily enough I hadn’t thought to ask him), and while nobody actually said, “Sounds like a gas”, there were plenty of unprintable responses, averaging out at: “Holocaust – the musical? Um, no thanks . . . ”
Another winter rolls in and, to cheer our spirits, Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company travel hither and yon through the county with colour, music and fun trailing in their wake. For those of us who live in villages these harbingers of the festive season are a welcome sight.
Applications to be the next manager of Oxford United have been pouring in.
