Oxford United manager Darren Patterson has leapt to the defence of striker Yemi Odubade following his poor display in the goalless draw against Woking.

Odubade was considerably less than 100 per cent, which partly explained his disappointing afternoon on Monday.

Patterson insisted it would be wrong to single him out for blame from what was a collectively poor showing.

"Yemi has been absolutely superb," he said. "In the last home game he was magnificent for us. His knee was a little bit sore and he wasn't himself.

"We played him out wide and he was just out of sorts, but I don't think it's fair on Yemi to pick him out." f=85 Helvetica Heavy l=8.5q=lSORE: Yemi Odubade f=85 Helvetica Heavy l=8.5q=lWHAT'S GOING OFF! Hypocryt comes to mind.

Patterson was quite happy to blame Yemi earlier in the year.

Patterson was quite happy to hang out others to dry too. In fact, he finds quite alot of people to put the blame on.

How is that hypocritical?

He gave Yemi some grief last season when he was pants and now hes defending him. Why do our supporters insist on trying to make Patto look bad.

Some Oxford fans are idiots.

Calling someone an idiot for expressing an opinion you disagree with, just makes you out to be one as well. Everyone on here wants to watch a succesful football team and Johnny Byrne should respect opinions different to his own.

I agree with you. So perhaps you should allow Jonny Byrne his on opinion?

I don't blame Yemi. I blame you Darren

It's a shame but perhaps because he has arguably been our most prominent player in the last two or three years, I just associate Yemi with failure and disappointment.

Mind you, that could be said of the entire playing staff and club.

I don't blame Yemi, Patto, I blame YOU and your non-existent managerial ability. 4 points from 5 games, and only scoring in one of them is PATHETIC

Jonny Byrne has a point though. I try an avoid reading the negative comments and commenting on here. As usually that same rubbish written day in day out, week in week out, month after month and season after season.

Its constant MOAN!!! MOAN!!! MOAN!!!

Why cant we just get behind the team like we do and let Patto and the players do the rest!!!

There's nothing wrong with Yemi or DP. It's the fans that are poor, and getting worse. Not all of them, of course. The players and management are no longer getting the support they deserve from the fans.

What an abselute arsehole you are!

The players deserve no support as they are useless, if you want to accept crap then you do that but don't moan at the rest of us for wanting more.
