OXFORD United will be pulling out all the stops in a bid to let their youth scheme continue.
But they need to find a considerable sum of money, and are actively seeking help from potential sponsors.
The Football League gave Oxford a boost by saying they will let them carry on in the games programme against other League clubs, from the under 9s to under 15s.
But, contrary to the report in yesterday's Oxford Mail, they will not continue to part-fund their participation, which now comes to an end as the two years since Oxford United dropped out of the League has elapsed.
So United need to find around £140,000 to carry on providing a centre of excellence, and for it to continue at its current level.
Les Taylor, United's youth development officer, said: "The good thing is that we have been allowed to carry on, and that shows how highly our youth set-up is regarded. But it is a lot of money we have to raise."

What about BMW, they are a big local employer, £140,000 is nothing to them, would make good PR for them, they could be the name sponsor on the centre of excellence shirts, give them free use of a match day box. If we invest the money now in the players of the future, could be a money spinner too, could be that the club makes some money by other clubs buying our homegrown talent. Got to look to the future not just now.
