Oxford United's new chairman has issued an open invitation to fans, who have suggestions and thoughts about ways to improve the club, to come and see him.

Kelvin Thomas, who took over last Thursday from Nick Merry, has already met several supporters, who provided suggestions for addressing United's short-term financial problems.

And he is now going to set aside time each week to meet fans and discuss the future of the club.

The first "Come and See Me" clinic is on Tuesday afternoon and Thomas says he is happy to meet as many supporters as possible.

It has to be done through an appointment, by calling 01865 337505 or emailing mary@oufc.co.uk to book a slot to see the chairman.

It's all part of the new initiative for the club to inter-act better with their customer base.

Thomas said: "I've met with three fans already, on Friday, and there were some great ideas put forward, on all aspects of the club."

He admitted thoroughly enjoying Saturday's 2-1 win over Rushden & Diamonds which got the new era at boardroom level off to a good start.

"I thought it was great entertainment," he said. "There was a big crowd here, the biggest gate of the season, and I hope they enjoyed what they saw and come along next time against Burton."

Thomas has barely had time to catch his breath since flying over from Florida in the middle of last week.

"The first couple of days were hectic, but I had Sunday to try and relax and get over the jet lag and the emotion of it all," he said.

"There is a lot of hard work to do now and I was at my desk early on Monday. We will stay focussed and do all we can to move the club forward."

Do you really call this leadership??? Why don't you just let the fans run the club as this is what KT is doing but is stamping his name on every idea.

It is a shame that Nick has stepped down - although every leader needs a new monkey!

I personnally think that KT is a joke - he looks like he has never picked up a football in his life.

Let's see how long it takes for him to pick up his skirt and run back to America!

When you lead a group of people you have to listen to their ideas too, as well as stamping your athority on the organisation

Yes its leadership, but I guess your a typical OUFC fan - quick to judge without good reason, you say KT is a joke, why?, you say he has never picked up a football in his life, well Jose Mourinhio started out as a translator for Bobby Robson, thats right he was the Language expert nothing more.

Arsene Wenger spent much of his life in University and not on the football pitch.

There is too many of your type about, full of anger and criticism, and short on ideas and suggestions. whats your input into OUFC? what would you do to improve the club?,

Ah yes like many OUFC fans you`d hound out another person.

We dont need fans like you

Same old Oxford fans taking the P...!!!!!

Kelvin has not been in the job for a week and there are idiots on here complaining and having a go already.

One of the biggest complaints the Oxford fans have had (aside from the results) is that there is a lack of communication from the club, the new chairman comes in and the first thing he sorts out is, this issue and what is the response from certain sections of the fans....it's a waste of time he will be back off to the US blah blah blah.

Well is it any wonder we are in the position we find ourselves in when we have plonkers like this claiming to support our club?!?!?!?

A lot of these "joke" and inflamatory posts are from ST fans - just stirriing the pot.

Just respond in kind and register for their www.thisis..... website to do the same.
