The increases that come into force today in Oxford’s main car parks are extraordinary by any standards. When you put them into the context of charges already being among the highest in the country and of the economic difficulties facing Oxfordshire, in particular the high street, we should be very worried.

Council leaders should not be so hasty in closing the Museum of Oxford. The free-to-enter facility is an easy target for the city council. It makes little or no money to begin with.
