Sir - May I use your column to ask readers to remember to put out food for the foxes, who may have difficulty opening the council's new green bins?
They are an important part of the ecology of our back gardens, and if they have to depend more and more on bird food, it may affect the welfare of squirrels and birds.
But in any case, it would not be humane to let the foxes starve.
