It is heartening to see that some donors have come forward to support Creation Theatre Company in its hour of need.

Creation has grown to become one of the best-loved fixtures on the arts scene in Oxfordshire.

Its innovative productions and its willingness to push the boundaries have won it many friends. Ironically, its innovations, particularly in taking open-air theatre to a mass market in the county, have also caused it some difficulties. Our fickle climate has let the company down.

The donations offered to Creation are on the understanding that the public of Oxfordshire show their support by raising an equal amount.

We trust people will rally to the cause.
