AN Oxfordshire river was put on flood watch this afternoon as a severe weather warning for the county was extended.
The Environment Agency put the River Ray catchment in north Oxfordshire back on flood watch - the lowest level of alert - after recent heavy rain.
A severe weather warning for the county is to remain in place until 3pm.
The Met Office had expected the heavy band of rain over the county to clear by 10.45am, but has extended the warning twice.
So far, 30.6mm or rain has fallen in Benson in the last six hours and 20mm in Brize Norton over the same period.
Meteorologists expect a further 25mm of rain could fall in Oxfordshire this afternoon.
Police are warning motorists to take care on the county's roads.
