Caroline Van Zyl has become the Liberal Democrat's first high-profile casualty of election night, losing her Marston seat to Labour's Beverley Hazzell.

Mrs Van Zyl polled 544 votes to Ms Hazzell's 732.

In Cowley Marsh, Tony Brett failed to make a comeback, losing to Saj Malik - who defected from Lib Dems to Labour.

Mr Brett polled 447 to Mr Malik's 772.

Colin Cook recorded a landslide win for Labour in Jericho and Osney.

He polled 907 votes, beating the Liberal Democrat candidate Adrian Rosser into second place with 301 votes.

Not a quetsion of 'haven't bothered' there is a small matter of work which precludes attendance, but if you think these meetings are benficial to the locale take a good look around. Marston is becoming a tip.

Well done to Colin Cook who is a hard working councillor and listens to the residents he represents. The LibDems could learn a lot from him.

'Marston is becoming a tip'.

Sorry Sid;

Just a little too late, it is a tip; which is a shame.

Perhaps weekly collections would help but doubt it.

Some of the people in Marston just cannot be bothered. Probably leaving at the end of the year!

Joe,

Yes, I agree. It occurred to me after posting that I should have put 'is a tip'. It is an absolute disgrace what is happening and the attitudes of people. This is exacerbated by the ridiculous 'developments' that are allowed.
