Blaze rips through derelict building

Firefighters are investigating a blaze that broke out at a derelict building in Didcot last night.

Fire crews from Didcot and Abingdon were called to Royal Berkshire Court in Green Road at 7.45pm.

Two first-floor flats and the roof of the building were alight.

Six firefighters wearing specialist breathing equipment used two jets to extinguish the blaze.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Rewley Road, Oxford, tackled a car fire in the entrance to Oxford Science Park in Grenoble Road during shortly in the early hours today.
