A woman was robbed at knifepoint in her Oxford home by two hooded raiders.

The aggravated burglary happened in Barton on Friday.

Police said at about 1pm, two men wearing tights on their heads and dark hooded tops entered an address in Barton Village Road and threatened a 45-year-old woman with a large knife.

They searched the house and then stole items including two laptops and an XBox 360.

One of the offenders was white, about 5ft 6in tall, medium build and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top.

The other was of mixed race, about 6ft tall and slim.

PC Karl Raph, of Oxford’s Burglary Team, said: “The offenders made off down Fettiplace Road and into an alleyway.

“This was obviously a very frightening experience for the woman inside the house and I appeal to anyone who may have seen two in the Barton area on Friday afternoon acting suspiciously to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact PC Ralph via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
