Racing start for new school

Former Formula 1 motor racing world champion Sir Jackie Stewart made a special visit to Abingdon to officially open a school's new home.
The Unicorn School specialises in helping children with dyslexia, so Sir Jackie, who is dyslexic himself, was a fitting choice to perform the opening, assisted by pupil Sebastian Newman, pictured.
The Unicorn School moved from its former premises at Abingdon School, to the new, larger site in Marcham Road last month.
Headteacher Jackie Voux said the school, which previously took pupils aged from seven to 11, has been able to form a Year Seven class, for 11 to 12-year-olds, with the number of pupils rising from 32 to 63.
Ms Voux, who has been at the school for 10 years, said: "They have all come from schools where they have had a bit of a hard time, despite support, and it has been a struggle.
"Here, everybody is in the same boat, so you don't feel left out."
The word dyslexia comes from the Greek meaning of difficulty with words. The condition affects the development of literacy and language-related skills.
