A teenager was pushed to the ground and kicked in the face during a street robbery in Carterton.

The 17-year-old was robbed by two men in Black Bourton Road at 1.10am today.

Police described the robbers as white and were wearing dark trousers and dark shoes. One of them had a long face, with short spiky hair.

Det Sgt Dick White, of Witney CID, said: "The offenders pushed him to the ground, kicked him in the face and demanded his wallet. When he told them he didn’t have one, they stole his phone and ran away.

"Thankfully, the man wasn't seriously injured as a result of the attack and suffered minor injuries.

"I appeal to anyone who saw two men of these descriptions, near to the time of the incident, to contact police immediately."

Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

ADC, Carterton says...

All too typical of late night activity in the town centre, perhaps if we had CCTV this sort of thing would a) be less common and b) be more easily detected.

Of course what we would all prefer to see would be more Police Officers on the streets but lets face it that is not going to happen anytime soon!

I hope they catch these thugs anyway!
