CRICKET: Nine-man Kidlington skittled

10:09pm Sunday 31st August 2008

Nine-man Kidlington's abject home form ended in the Home Counties Premier League with a comprehensive eight-wicket defeat to Burnham on Saturday.

Kidlington, already relegated from Division 2 West, failed to field eleven players after bowlers Faisal Chaudhry and Tim Dredge broke down on the motorway and did not get there in time to bat.

The umpires allowed the home team to field two substitutes for the 13 overs needed to complete the game, after Kidlington had been dismissed for 84.

The game was all over one hour after lunch.
