A DRIVER has avoided disqualification after being caught speeding.
Alvar Omell, of Croft Road, Wallingford, was caught on May 17 last year exceeding the speed limit on the B4009 South Stoke Road.
The 79-year-old was caught on a speed camera driving at 36mph, exceeding the 30mph speed limit.

He was charged under the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on February 7 this year where he pleaded guilty to speeding.
On the same day, he was fined £100 and had three penalty points added to his driving record.
There were court costs for £60 and a victim surcharge of £40.
The total amount he will need to pay is £200 which he is paying monthly.
