To celebrate the upcoming National Tea Day, a tea company has been finding out how Brits like their cuppas.
According to a new survey from Bird & Blend Tea Co, which has a shop in Oxford, Brits consume 36 billion cups of tea each year.
The research, which surveyed 2,014 Brits, revealed that 79 percent enjoy at least one cup of tea daily, with nearly half admitting to multiple daily cuppas.
The survey, released in time for National Tea Day on April 21, discovered popular snack pairings with tea.
On April 21, Bird & Blend Tea will be offering free cuppas in stores nationwide from 11am to 2pm.
With more than 100 tea flavours in-store highlighting the nation's favourite pairings, no snack is required.
With 74 percent of participants confessing to pairing a snack with their tea, they were asked to name their unusual favourites.
Scrambled tofu or eggs was surprisingly popular, with 27 percent saying it was there preferred alternative choice.
A baked potato with beans was not far behind as it was chosen by one in five participants.
Other unique combinations included tea with a cheeseburger, a Sunday roast, Pick n Mix, mac and cheese, and even a Chicken Tikka Masala.
Chocolate biscuits were the most popular of the classic options, chosen by 51 percent of respondents.
This was followed by tea with a scone, jam and cream, and a slice of Victoria Sponge cake.
