Pupils at Hailey Primary School, near Witney, dressed in war paint to celebrate a link with a school in New Zealand.
Among the ‘Maori Warriors’ were, left to right, Paul Nixey, Titus Gormley, both 10, and Jamie Bull, 11.
The Hailey children set up a telephone hotline and spent 15 minutes talking to their new friends in 1991.

They had received a video from New Zealand and were planning to make their own to send to North Island.
Hailey is a village and civil parish about two miles north of Witney. The village features three neighbourhoods: Middletown on the main road between Witney and Charlbury, Poffley End on the minor road to Ramsden, and Delly End on Whiting’s Lane.
