A production of Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein will be staged in Wantage next month by an Oxfordshire theatre group.
The smash-hit comedy musical runs from next Thursday (August 3) to Saturday (August 5) at King Alfred’s Academy Theatre in Portway.
The production, supported by Wantage Town Council and local businesses, is staged by AmEgos theatre company, which rehearses in Childrey.

Lesley Phillips and her daughters Lauren Anderson-Smedley and Grace Anderson, who started the group in 2012, all appear in the production.
Based on Brooks’ 1974 American comedy horror film of the same name, the show follows Dr Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced ‘Fronk-en-steen’) as inherits a castle in Transylvania and tries to fulfil his grandfather’s legacy by bringing a corpse back to life, with help from sidekick Igor, laboratory assistant Inga and feisty fiancée Elizabeth.
