Craig Revel Horwood may be the harshest judge on Strictly Come Dancing – but he was described as “charming” by the owner of an Oxford pub he visited this week.

The dancer and actor, who is currently starring in the musical ‘Annie’ at New Theatre, visited the Jolly Farmers on Sunday, and again on Thursday with some of the show’s cast and crew.

He was encouraged to visit the establishment, which is the only LGBTQ+ pub in Oxford, after he saw Sir Ian McKellen and John Bishop do the same last month while starring in ‘Mother Goose’.

Owner of the Jolly Farmers Rob Jordan said: “He said he’d seen that John Bishop and Sir Ian McKellen had been in and so wanted to see the pub for himself.

He added: "He was really nice, very charming.”

Mr Horwood, 58, is described as giving a “memorable performance” in Annie, which finishes its run tonight, in a review of the show by Oxford Mail reporter Andy Ffrench.
