Thieves attack parked cars

POLICE today appealed for information after a series of thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles parked in the Faringdon area.

On April 18, at about 7.30pm, a catalytic converter was stolen from a Peugeot van parked at Blacker Phillip Studio in Park Road.

On April 29, at 2.30pm, an exhaust system and catalytic converter were stolen from a Ford Focus which was parked in Tyrell Close in Stanford in the Vale.

Between 2pm on April 30 and 11.45 am on May 1a catalytic converter was stolen from a Honda Civic in Perry's Road in Stanford in the Vale.

PC Lewis Boyce said: "All of these crimes have resulted in extensive damage to the vehicles all costing around £300 to repair.

"A white Transit van was seen in the Park Road at the time that the Peugeot van had its catalytic converter stolen and I am appealing to the driver or anyone who may have seen the van in the area at the time to contact me.

"There have also been reports of a tall, slim white man, wearing a threequarter length jacket with the hood up and carrying vehicle jack in Tyrell Close. I am keen to speak to this man and I would like to make a direct appeal for anyone with any information to get in touch."
