Will Eason was spared the wrath of his brother, Robbie, after the Horspath pair scored centuries in The Oxford Times Cherwell League.

Will, 22, and captain Robbie, 27, achieved the feat by scoring 106 and 116 not out respectively in Horspath's Division 1 defeat to Cumnor on Saturday.

Robbie, who hit three big sixes and ten fours, reached 100 just ahead of Will, whose ton included four sixes and 13 fours as they put on 210 runs for the fourth wicket.

"I had to take his kit bag to the game, which drove me potty because I am captain and have enough to do," said Robbie.

"But I said if you get to 100, I will take your kit bag next week as well.

"We were both on 60 and I said how bizarre would it be if we both get to three figures.

"It's the first time we have done it together.

"Normally I'm out by the time he gets to bat. It's pretty unique."

The duo have been playing for Horspath since childhood, following in their dad Max's footsteps.

Their other brother, Alex, also plays, so there have been four Easons in a Horspath team before.

Robbie added: "That was my second ton in three weeks.

"My early season form was so bad, but for the last three Fridays I have stayed in.

"Maybe that's the secret!"

Will, who was dropped at long off when he was on 98, said: "Me and him bat well together and have a pretty good understanding.

"I normally get into the 80s and get out, and Robbie said keep it on the floor.

"There was a big crowd there and everyone understands that it doesn't happen very often. It's very unlikely we will do it again.

"We had quite a good laugh, it was really nice to do it."

Horspath, who have done well in their first Division 1 season, host title-chasing Bicester & North Oxford on Saturday.

  • Charlbury were the inaugural winners of the Against Breast Cancer Six-a-side Tournament at Abingdon Vale.

Captain Vicky Strode collected the Leathem Trophy from Tony Crabb, chairman of Oxfordshire County Council, after leading her side to victories over Oxford, Combe and Blackheath.

Is this the same Robbie Eason that i used to play with? I thought it was until i started reading about the sixes!

Apparently someone called Eason smashed some tiles on the BCC Pavilion roof with a massive 6 also... Must be a different bloke.
