Ivy Morgan marked her century in style as family and friends gathered to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Mrs Morgan, who has lived in Wheatley for more than 60 years, said she never expected to see the day when she received a birthday card from the Queen.
She said: "I certainly didn't think I would reach 100, but it's crept up on me. I've really enjoyed the day.
"I was delighted to receive the card from the Queen and it had a lovely photo of her on it."
Although she has no children, her nephews Simon and David Leathes, and great-great nephew Ben Leathes helped celebrate her special day.
Mrs Morgan said: "I have received some lovely presents and hundreds of cards, which I've found amazing - and so surprising."
She said she owed her longevity to "always being active throughout her life".
She remains involved with Wheatley Red Cross and worked as a magistrate in Thame for 20 years.
Neighbour Caroline Dalton said: "Ivy is a much-loved character in Wheatley who has always taken an active part in village life."
