Teenage tourist hit by car in city centre

A 15-year-old boy has suffered a fractured foot after a hit-and-run incident in Oxford this morning.

The injury occurred when a car ran over the boy's foot as his tour party crossed the road outside St John's College in St Giles at about 11.30am.

After initially stopping, the motorist drove off away from the city centre.

The boy is currently receiving treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Investigating officer Pc Eddie Hulmecorr said: "We believe the car involved was a silver Vauxhall. We would like to speak with the driver, so we would urge them to come forward."

Anyone with any information should all police on 0845 8 505505.
