Teen jailed over drugs

A TEENAGER who admitted possessing illegal drugs has been jailed for 12 months.

Oxford Crown Court heard Nathan Forbes, of Wylie Close, Headington, was caught with 2.53g cocaine and 1.27g of heroin.

The 16-year-old was found with the drugs after being stopped by police in the Wood Farm area of Oxford in February.

Sentencing him to a 12-month detention and training order, Recorder Richard Prior told Forbes the drugs were "highly destructive", adding: "You had a not insignificant quantity of drugs on you when you were stopped by police - a total of 21 wraps.

"There are no circumstances here which could justify me passing anything other than an immediate period of detention."
