Construction has paused on the £700 million development site where a worker fell to his death on Monday morning.
Ambulance crews were unable to save the man in his 40s from the serious injuries he accrued as a result of the fall after they were called to the scene of the Oxford North development site just off the A40 at 10.15am.
Oxford North is a major development on land near the A34, A40 and A44 whose developers set out with the aim to "replicate Silicon Valley".

A spokeswoman for Oxford North Ventures said: “We are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news that a member of the construction team lost their life on-site yesterday morning.
"Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
Thames Valley Police remain on site to investigate circumstances surrounding the incident with colleagues from the Health & Safety Executive.
Staff at the BMW showroom near where the incident took place said they saw “a lot of emergency service vehicles” which arrived at the site throughout the morning and remained there for some time, leading them to wonder what had happened.
Detective Inspector Krista Thompson of Oxford CID said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the death of a man aged in his forties.
“His next of kin have been made aware and our thoughts go out to them at this extremely difficult time."
DI Thompson added that police were currently in the "very early stages of this investigation."
A spokesman for construction company Laing O’Rourke said: "We are shocked and upset by what has happened and have suspended work on the project.
"The police and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) are now on site and we are cooperating with their investigations.
"For now we are focused on doing all we can to support everyone affected by this tragic incident, including the family of the deceased and our project team.
Oxford North is expected to inject £150 million into the local economy each year and has created hundreds of new jobs for workers in the city.
Plans for the 64-acre site for new homes, offices and laboratories had been criticised by some residents for their reduction of "open green belt land".
Laing O’Rourke is a multinational construction company headquartered in Dartford, England.
It is the largest privately-owned construction company in the United Kingdom and was established in 1978.
Speaking on Monday's fatality at the North Oxford project site, a Health and Safety Executive spokesman said: “We are aware of an incident and currently making enquiries on site alongside Thames Valley Police.”
Barriers and cranes remained on site but the area was largely desolate when an Oxford Mail reporter visited in yesterday afternoon, due to the pauses in construction work.
It is not known when work on the £700 million project will resume following the death of the man on site.
